on OH HEY INTERNET

Internet. Blog. Blog friends. Actual friends.
Hello.

It has been a minute, no? I haven't posted on this here little blog in what feels like forever, which is serious proof that my life is in crazy mode. So obvs we need a catch up, right? Right. Here's what I've been up to in the past two weeks. First, some photos:

My sweet babies.
Layla is either causing trouble or being unbelievably sweet and cuddly. Nothing in between.
I met Heather! Love this girl. Check out her blog here.
Broadway Barks! The little Chi above, Dotty, is avail through Bidawee. Another pup fancied her to be his tail rest.
Best pizza I've ever had in NYC so far. The company sure didn't hurt either ;)
My little cousin moved to NYC! Now we can have impromptu lunch dates!

This is my favorite place ever.

So now that you've been caught up in photos, here's what else I've been up to:

Auditions. Just streams of them. Commercials, voiceovers, musicals, magazines.. meetings and setting up meetings and helping others set up meetings. At my agency, at studios, in recording booths. Uptown, downtown, midtown. Even via my iphone recording app and good ol' fashioned email. I feel lucky and grateful and excited and terrified.

Coaching. That's right, I'm officially coaching. After getting trained as a life coach a couple of years ago, and then laughing about that, plus years of intense work on this here life/human, plus x amount of years in the industry plus an obsession with the business side of the business and the realization that all I do is coach every one anyway, especially with biz stuff, and a few brave moves later... annnnd coaching. Life and business coaching for actors/artists and people who want to be actors/artists. I'm kind of obsessed. There will be more on this later. (Also, want to coach with me? Great, send me an email. Not an actor but want to coach anyway? Cool, I got you, email me.)

Life. More like driving back and forth between NJ and NYC. A lot. Summer means a lot of time in NJ and I thought this summer would be like summers past where I have nothing going on in acting land or social life land and could kick it on my couch with my babies and my family and friends and go to the beach. Incorrect! Ha! said the Universe. Ha! said God. You think you run the show? Nah, hop in your car, we've got plans for you. And all I can do is surrender to it and be excited.

Doggies. Mine (eeeeee I love them so much they are my babies hkjsnfkansfal). Other people's whom I watch. Shelter pups who I am working to save on the daily. Like every night until 2 or 3 am with the Urgent group. If you are looking to help save some dogs, please join Urgent (or a group like that near you) and post the dogs on your page. They have about 12 hours between being listed and being killed. The more who post them, the more get saved. More on this soon, too.

Lessons. As in, the ones that are repeatedly given to me to learn and learn and learn until I get it straight and then more lessons. Cause this is how we grow.

Work. I counted yesterday and I now have 6 jobs. 6! What am I, nuts? All freelance, and all remotely, and all things that I seriously love. Which is good because, seriously, 6?

And that is that! You are caught up, internet style. Happy Tuesday, beautiful people.

on M & J TURN ONE

Last summer, upon leaving acting class, I saw the email; the twins had been born. I screamed in reaction. It was my first time in this class and the handful of students that witnessed this reaction at the elevators made for quite the first impression. All the way down ninth avenue I freaked out, replying to a group text, hopping on calls, crying.

These babies were so loved from the second we heard about them. And now? One years old.

J is a troublemaker. I've witnessed first hand his over-the-shoulder innocent smile upon getting caught doing something. He is attentive, knows what he wants, determined, up on his feet first, taking on the world.

M is dainty. Delicate, loving, observant, and smiley. She lets people come to her, and claps proudly for herself. She is tiny, but powerful, and knows how to get what she wants.

They are beautiful, incredibly well dressed, and unbelievably loved by their family. As new parents, the grownups are sort of kicking ass. Twins? I cannot imagine. But they've survived their first year, and did it with grace, reminding me again how valuable it is to have family, blood related and not.

Happy Birthday, little ones. I'm so lucky to get to be a part of your lives. xo

ON Babies & Target & Shoes, Oh My

Last Saturday, I had the darn good fortune of my best friend, and my cousin, both telling me at the same time that they would be going to Target that day. With a little magick, I somehow got to be in the wondrous land of Target with both of these beautiful women AND two of my cousin's kids, my sweet little godbabies.

And we went shoe shopping. Needless to say, it was very effective birth control.

Jokes aside, I love all of these people so much and, well, I just love Target so much. It's pretty rare that I get to go to Target, fyi, I'm not totally crazy and definitely wouldn't go every weekend if I lived in suburbia (yes I would). It's also important to note that I downright started salivating over those tiny baby shoes. Also, can we discuss how adorable these children are? That little girl is a firecracker, a total crack up, and five going on sixteen. Her little brother is quiet, focused, and (almost) four going on seventy. Also, you may note that I'm actually in a picture on my blog for once! This is my true suburban look: random, old clothes, hair up in a bun, no makeup.. ah, perfection. You're welcome, internet.

ON yesterday wins (warning: BABIES & PUPPIES ahead)

Wednesday was wonderful.

It started with an audition with one of my favorite casting directors. Followed by being offered to sign at a new agency (!!!). This alone would have made Wednesday so very wonderful.

But then.. then there were babies. BABIES! Twins, in fact. Cutie, sweetie, lovey, funny, giggly babies. A little boy and a little girl who just stole all of our hearts away last summer. It's amazing to watch them grow, and to see how very much a boy the little boy is, and how very much a girl the little girl is. Best friends were there, too, and we coo-ed and commented on how baby feet are most excellent.

Then LaLa and I got a lot of work done from my office (read: my bed) and I got the giggles myself over how very much I love my new job and love working from home and love my life. She got her own puppy giggle over the flowy dress I had on (which I tried to capture for you in that photo up there, she was wrapping herself up in the skirt portion, I just could. not. deal. with the cuteness).

After we finished our work, in an oh-my-god-will-we-finish style, we hopped a cab to Aunt Julie's where all of LaLa's other Aunties were waiting to meet her. Also, this was a girl's night dinner party, but mostly La decided it was about her. See the picture above of two of her Auntie's looking down? That's because they were talking to her. We ate mostly healthy, delicious things.. but those cupcakes did us in. We never saw them coming. And we tried to do an outfit photo for you but I'll tell you what, an oversized jean button down mixed with a flowy dress, does not make for the best photo opt. But in person? In person this outfit was getting rave reviews. Someday I'll be the type of blogger that photographs outfits daily but today I am not.

This whole week is just so magickal. I am a grateful girl.

ON Further Proof I Am Out Of My Mind (Holiday Version)

In case you haven't caught on yet, I am one weird gal. Very enthusiastic, excited by things most people would find boring, pretty darn strange, a major nerd and mentally on a whole other planet.
This past Christmas, my sister captured some of my finer moments and I thought I'd share them with you here. So, without further adieu: Further Proof I Am Out Of My Mind. For example..
I get absurdly excited over things like quarters and stamps...
...but not nearly excited as I get over towels and sheets. There were tears, people.
The second I'm supposed to pose, I take it as to mean "strike a pose". And so many to choose from!

Sometimes my poses frighten small children. This can't be helped. When the spirit moves you, dance!

What's that? Group shot? I'll take front and center please. With a pose. AND A BOW!

I also have the ability to look 6 years old with a tilt of the head. A good party trick to have handy.

Sometimes when I need a break from regular poses, I pose with props.

Again with the towels and sheets. This is, in fact, a genuine reaction and NOT a pose. Do note the difference.

I also sometimes outfit match with seven month old babes. Check the socks, holler.

And, of course, am in love with my puppy. Who dutifully wore his Christmas jams the whole week.

I know what you're thinking: how is she possibly this cool?
I totally understand as I think the same thing all the time. With a little work, you too, can be this hip.
I also know for certain that if you weren't a dutiful blog reader yet, you sure are now.
I mean, everyone loves bloggers who post photos of themselves first thing in the morning, sans makeup, hair a fright, and in pajamas. Fashion bloggers unite, hello.

Stay tuned for a Christmas re-cap where there will be normal photos. And more of Henry's jams.
I hope your Christmas and Holiday Season has been just as wacky and weird :)
Happy Almost New Year! xo
