ON Best Friends, Late Nights & Busy Days

Just as I'd imagined for last weekend, I truly thought this weekend would be low-key. I was yet again wrong. Instead of catching up on work in my pajamas all weekend, I found myself to be busier than ever, and with people I love.

On Friday night, one of my nearest and dearests and I finally saw each other after five months. We got Five Napkin Burger (because, hello, delish) and chatted and caught up. Then we went to this magical land of cookies, and sadly I was far too full to indulge, but holy moly my oh my, they looked so good.

p.s. i assure you that we are not spotted.. that is just the dirt on the mirror.. eek.

On Saturday, I spent the morning taking pictures of pups for some social media volunteer work with Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue. This group lives up to its name - both the humans and the dogs.

 Then my very bestest friend in the world, Kelly, came to visit me and we took on the day. We had lunch, went to Central Park, popped by an arts-and-crafts fair, wandered around, bought lemonade from a legit little kid lemonade stand (who knew they had those in new york city?!), and met up with my cousin and his beautiful wife, who also happened to be in town. Other friends got mixed in and we then somehow ended up staying out way, way past when I normally stay out until. I'm fairly certain I crashed somewhere around 2:30 in the morning.

Today has been a day dedicated to running errands, and learning a bunch of material for an audition tomorrow. My most favorite person helped me with the scenes (true story: audition material is called 'sides' and I almost wrote that but then I realized barely any of you would know what the heck I meant) and my momma helped me with the music via our iphones. I got frustrated as heck with both of my lovely helpers but it's only because I love them so much. I'll bet you're all super jealous that you're not in my close knit circle of people I yell at because they mean the most to me. I'm an artist, what can I say.

ON April 25th

I could not resist! Also, is this not one of thee best lazy Sunday catch-it-on-tv movies of all time? Right up there with Legally Blonde and How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days. Though, of course not of the calibar of such classics as You've Got Mail or Sleepless In Seattle. When those movies are found on the perfect movie watching Sunday, well, my reaction is strong, friends. Strong.

I'm off to multiple auditions, where I shall attempt to sing like characters that don't exist yet (wrap your head around that one) and somehow wear business clothes when I do not own any. I love this business! It's so exciting to have such strange and amazing days. Get out there and April 25th it up! xo

ON yesterday wins (warning: BABIES & PUPPIES ahead)

Wednesday was wonderful.

It started with an audition with one of my favorite casting directors. Followed by being offered to sign at a new agency (!!!). This alone would have made Wednesday so very wonderful.

But then.. then there were babies. BABIES! Twins, in fact. Cutie, sweetie, lovey, funny, giggly babies. A little boy and a little girl who just stole all of our hearts away last summer. It's amazing to watch them grow, and to see how very much a boy the little boy is, and how very much a girl the little girl is. Best friends were there, too, and we coo-ed and commented on how baby feet are most excellent.

Then LaLa and I got a lot of work done from my office (read: my bed) and I got the giggles myself over how very much I love my new job and love working from home and love my life. She got her own puppy giggle over the flowy dress I had on (which I tried to capture for you in that photo up there, she was wrapping herself up in the skirt portion, I just could. not. deal. with the cuteness).

After we finished our work, in an oh-my-god-will-we-finish style, we hopped a cab to Aunt Julie's where all of LaLa's other Aunties were waiting to meet her. Also, this was a girl's night dinner party, but mostly La decided it was about her. See the picture above of two of her Auntie's looking down? That's because they were talking to her. We ate mostly healthy, delicious things.. but those cupcakes did us in. We never saw them coming. And we tried to do an outfit photo for you but I'll tell you what, an oversized jean button down mixed with a flowy dress, does not make for the best photo opt. But in person? In person this outfit was getting rave reviews. Someday I'll be the type of blogger that photographs outfits daily but today I am not.

This whole week is just so magickal. I am a grateful girl.

On A (Numerical) Day In The Life

A Day In The Life (By Numbers):

Today..

was a solid TEN,

I took the train NINE times,

shared group meditation with EIGHT beautiful souls,

spent SEVEN dollars on lunch,

did the voice of a SEVEN year old raccoon (swear)

worked for SIX hours,

called my mom FIVE times,

ran into FIVE fabulous friends,

was in FOUR different neighborhoods,

and had FOUR outfit changes,

had THREE celebrity sightings (hello, Chuck Bass),

and more importantly, THREE kick-ass auditions,

where I sang for TWO of them,

and curled my hair TWO times,

walked ONE adorable Noah Dog,

and am ONE really happy, completely exhausted girl.
