ON closet crushes

I've just rearranged my room for the gazallionth time. In my itty bitty, 7 ft by 11 ft room, there isn't that much to move and change, and yet, I still try. No matter how many times I switch things up, the one thing I cannot change is the lack of closet space. Oh, how I long for multiple closets. Large, vast, spacious places to hang, store, organize and stack. 'Tis the dream. Don't even get me started about the closets turned into offices. I swoon over craft closets, and small spaces to create in. And imagine? Closing the doors at the end of the day to all of the work you've done and leaving it hidden away until the morning. Sounds dreamy.

What's your closet space like? Do you have a little closet office? Send me pictures so I can be jealous :)

ON a home away from home

when i'm traveling and looking at places to stay, it's imperative that the design speak to me.
most people go with budget, location, size, etc. for me? all about the energy/look of the space.
the first time i walked through the door, it felt like i lived here. which, when you're traveling, is the absolute best feeling to have. a little home away from home to create, learn, dream & play in :)

in related news: can you handle how much sunshine exists here?!
it felt impossible to get any pictures that weren't full of light. LA, i love your sunlight!
i can't wait to have my real camera back in my life, in the meantime, iphone it is!

On Pinstagram Prints

On the same day that the moo cards came, a package arrived from Pinstagram.
Cue the heavenly angel choir.
Tis like a dream, this here Pinstagram company is. All of my favorite instagrams in real, tangible pictures!
The pictures are all great quality (even when my shots weren't so great).
I ordered two different sizes and perhaps went a bit overboard by getting 24 large pics and 48 small ones.
I was kind of proud of my self-control, to be honest. I could've ordered 200, easy.
The only confusing part was there was no way to see what pictures I had already ordered in the first set when selecting ones for the second set. Otherwise.. signed, sealed, delivered, I'm yours, Pinstagram.

Hanging them up is quite possibly the fastest and easiest DIY ever.
I hammered three nails into one of the blank walls in my room,
strung some of my favorite yarn and tied the ends onto nails,
purchased some mini-clothespins & pinned them along the yarn. Ta-da!

I felt very fancy, talented AND I got to use a hammer, so you know I was delighted.
Also, I tried not to order only photos of Henry, but I mean, is he not the most adorable ever?! Yes, yes he is.

Have you ordered from here? How about one of the other instagram photo suppliers?
How do you choose to show off your instagram pictures in your home? Share with the group!

On The Renegade Craft Fair (Holiday Style)

This past weekend, one of my all time bff's & I went to the Renegade Craft Fair.
For those who don't know, this fair is like Etsy.. but in person. Etsy sellers bring their goods and sell in person. Will wonders ever cease? Aside from this glorious land of Etsy, it was Nicole's first visit to Williamsburg! As a devoted fan of le 'burg, I was ever so delighted to bring her there.

After the fair, we strolled a few feet and found ourselves in the middle of Smorgasburg.
Yes, it's true, after rows and rows of Etsy sellers.. we ended up in food heaven.
Unfortunately, I have no photos of this part of the day as my hands were, ahem, full.
(That vegan truffle shot up there? That same place made me an amazing vegan grilledcheese.)
Also, how gorgeous are those bowls from Fisheye Brooklyn? The most gorgeous ever, I know.
Nic went home with a couple of those and one or two other items. I shall show you what I purchased in another post. Suspense! No, not really. Just need to take pictures of them first ;)
I love things like this. I get all giddy and jump up and down a lot and practice restraint in not buying every single thing that I see. Which is really hard, if I do say so myself.

Have you ever been to the Renegade Craft Fair? Are you going in another city?

On Re-Framing It

Once upon a Tuesday night, I took this old framed painting (found at the antiques garage)...
... and turned it into this!
i am quite delighted by it and get really giddy every time i see it.
which, for my little apartment, is quite often. including every time i wake up :)
it's messy and imperfect and that feels absolutely right.
the words are the title (& lyrics) of what has become by theme song for 2012: 'take your time (coming home)' by fun.

take your time coming home/hear the wheels as they roll/let your lungs fill up with smoke/forgive everyone

i especially love the bridge of the song and am working on making a project around it:
now i'm not scared of the songs or the states or the stages/
i'm not scared, i got friends, took my call, came courageous/
now i feel like i am home.

project inspired by something spotted on a beautiful mess
